Developing the School-Age Language Screening Assessment (SALSA)

The purpose of this study is to develop a valid, reliable, quick measure to identify children in grades 2 through 4 who should be referred for a speech-language assessment. Children with developmental language disorder are often not diagnosed, and therefore do not receive intervention. With a reliable screening measure, more children should have the opportunity to receive appropriate services for their language difficulties.
